DID THE EYE SIMPLY HAPPEN ?

Just think of the different parts of the eye and how important each one is -
  1. The Cornea : This thin (0.5-0.8mm) smooth transparent covering transmits the light and images. If it is rough or irregular, images will be distorted. One can be effectively blinded by damage to it.
  2. The lens : This directs and refracts the light to a point on the retina to provide clearest vision. Because of the muscles attached to it, the lens can become more rounded or flat, affecting the direction the light will take. If damaged (eg by cataracts) vision will be impaired.

  3. The Pupil : This is simply the opening left by the Iris. If we are in bright light it gets smaller to decrease the light entered, if the surrounding is dim, it will be larger, to allow more light to enter.
  4. The two Chambers: with a watery gel, in front of and behind the lens. These need to be at a particular pressure (12-22mm Hg). If the pressure his too low, the eye ball collapses. If too high (as in glaucoma), it will hinder the blood flow at the back of the eye, leaving one blind within one day!
  5. The Retina : At the back of the eye ball, receives the light - best at a particular point - and transmits it to the brain, so we “see”.
  6. The Muscles : Around the eye, allow us to look up / down etc. If they are not perfectly coordinated, will will see blurred.
Note the muscle that goes through the little pulley / sling to turn the eye. Imagine if the sling were a few mm off position !
Did the sling gradually ‘evolve’ into the right position ? Or was it perfectly designed ?

Then, of course, there are the Lids to protect the eye.

Charles Darwin said that considering the complexity of the eye, it would be absurd to think that it had evolved ! Now remember, that when he
went on his journey on the Beagle, he had not even seen the nucleus of a cell ! So basic was the scientist’s understanding at the time. Imagine the complexity of a cell as we understand it now !

Surely - surely, we must conclude that the eye was designed (by an amazing Designer) rather than evolved by ‘natural selection’ of random purposeless changes !
Let us give credit to the Great Designer - Creator - God - ShangDi!
Let us search to know Him!
